Why bother understanding indicators?

Most people see these numbers in a news headline, nod, and scroll on. That's a shame — because each one directly affects your mortgage, savings, salary, or the price of your coffee.

The goal of this page is to take the numbers everyone throws at you, and show them in plain English — without "neutral policy stance" and without "yield curve expectations." Just: what it is, where it is today, and where it's heading.

Bank of Israel rate dropsYour mortgage gets cheaper
Dollar risesYour next flight costs more

What belongs where

We grouped the indicators by how they affect you — not by academic "financial categories," but by the question on your mind when you open the page.

Frequently asked

פתח/סגור: What exactly is an "index"?

An index is a single number that summarizes a complex phenomenon. TA-125 is a weighted average of 125 stocks; the CPI is a weighted average of a basket of goods that an average family buys. The point of an index is to give you a quick snapshot in one number, instead of tracking 125 stocks separately.

פתח/סגור: How often is the data on this page updated?

Values are pulled automatically from official sources and refreshed every hour. Each indicator's dedicated page shows its last-updated timestamp.

פתח/סגור: Is this financial or investment advice?

No. This is educational content only. We don't sell anything, don't recommend specific investments, and aren't licensed advisors. If you're weighing a financial decision — see an objective licensed advisor (pension or investments) registered with the Israel Securities Authority.

פתח/סגור: Where does the data come from?

Only from official sources. Bank of Israel for rates and FX, Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) for TA-125, Israel Central Bureau of Statistics for statistical indices (inflation, wages), and CoinGecko for Bitcoin. Each indicator links to its source.

פתח/סגור: Why these 9 indicators? Where's the Fed? Where's the Dow?

Phase one. We picked the 9 most relevant to most Israelis — anyone with a mortgage, anyone investing, and anyone who just lives here and notices prices. We'll add more over time. Missing one you care about? Tell us.

פתח/סגור: Do you have calculators that use these indicators?

Yes. The mortgage calculator uses the prime rate, the inflation calculator uses the CPI, and the net salary calculator is relevant to the average wage. All calculators at /en/calculators.
